A Driveway Built to Actually Last

A concrete driveway is one of the first things people see when they pull up to your home, and it’s also one of the hardest-working surfaces on your property. Vehicles, weather, and years of daily use all take a toll on it, so we pour driveways on a properly compacted base, reinforced to handle real traffic, and finished to either a clean broom finish or a decorative stamped and colored look if you want something with more character.

Getting a driveway right starts long before any concrete is mixed. We grade the site for proper drainage so water runs off toward the street instead of pooling near your garage or foundation, and we set control and expansion joints in the right places so the slab has room to move as it cures and as the ground shifts with the seasons, instead of cracking wherever it wants.

Whether you’re replacing a driveway that’s cracked and heaved after a rough winter, dealing with an old asphalt surface that’s reached the end of its life, or pouring a brand-new driveway at a home you just built, we handle it as one job from the first shovel of dirt to the final finish — not a patchwork of subcontractors.

Signs You Need a New Driveway

  • Cracking, crumbling, or spalling on the surface
  • Sinking, sloped, or noticeably uneven sections
  • Water pooling on the driveway instead of draining to the street
  • An asphalt driveway that’s reached the end of its life
  • New construction that needs a driveway poured for the first time
  • Staining, pitting, or a surface that’s just worn out after years of exposure
Common Questions

What Customers Ask Us About Driveways

How thick does my driveway need to be?

Most residential driveways are poured 4 inches thick. We’ll go thicker — often 5 to 6 inches — if you’re regularly parking heavier vehicles like a truck, RV, or trailer on it, since standard thickness isn’t built for that kind of repeated load.

How long before I can drive on it?

Concrete typically needs about 7 days to cure enough for regular vehicle traffic, though it’s usually safe to walk on within a day or two. Weather plays a role in exact timing, so we’ll give you a specific window based on conditions the day of your pour.

Will my new driveway crack?

All concrete develops some hairline cracking over time — it’s a normal part of how the material cures and how the ground underneath it moves. What we control is where it cracks, by cutting control joints at the right intervals so any cracking happens along a joint line instead of across the middle of a slab where it’s visible.

Can you add a decorative finish, or do I have to go with plain gray?

You have options either way. We can pour a plain broom finish for a clean, classic look, or go stamped and colored to mimic pavers, brick, or natural stone — and we can carry that same finish through to a connecting walkway or patio if you want everything to match.

What if my current driveway is asphalt?

We can remove an old asphalt driveway and pour a new concrete one in its place. Concrete costs more upfront but typically holds up longer and needs less ongoing maintenance than asphalt, especially through freeze-thaw winters and hot TN summers.

Do I need a permit to replace my driveway?

Most straightforward residential driveway replacements in our service area don’t require a permit, but requirements vary by city and county. We’ll flag it up front during your estimate if your specific project needs one.

What actually affects the cost of a driveway?

Size and thickness are the biggest factors, followed by site access, how much demo or excavation is needed, drainage work, and whether you want a plain finish or a stamped and colored one. We’ll walk the site with you and give you a clear, itemized estimate before anything is scheduled.
